In 2007, the BGS Board of Governors approved a grant to assist
the Alumni Chapters. The purpose of the grant is to allow the
Alumni Chapters to focus on development of the chapter, enhancing
programming and reaching more BGS alumni members in their geographic
location.
The grant program provides 500 USD semi-annually to chapters
that wish to participate and meet specific criteria. The grant
was originally approved for a five (5) year timeframe (starting
July 2007 ending June 2012) with an individual chapter only being
allowed to participate for a maximum of three (3) years.
In February 2012, the BGS Board of Governors approved an indefinite
extension of the grant program for the Alumni Chapters. This will
allow chapters to continue participating in the program provided
the chapter meet the eligibility criteria.
