BGS Seattle presents:

Summer Bowling at the Garage Billiards

The Beta Gamma Sigma Seattle Alumni Chapter would like to invite you to an evening of appetizers, bowling and networking at the Garage Billiards in Seattle.

Date: Monday, June 24th, 2013

Time: 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm

RSVP: Required for each member and guest.

Cost:  Free for BGS members, $5.00 for non-member guests
BGS will provide a table of appetizers, and cover the cost of two bowling lanes and shoe rental.  Members and their guests will be responsible for the cost of beverages and other discretionary purchases.

Parking:
Street parking is usually available within 1 block of Garage Billiards

BGS Seattle announces:


2012-2013 BGS Scholarship Award Winner

The Beta Gamma Sigma Seattle Alumni Chapter would like to congratulate Josh Radman with a GPA of 3.91 on winning the BGS Scholarship award.




2013 New officer nomination:

The Seattle Alumni Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma is now accepting applications for elected officer positions to serve during the 2013/2014 term.  Officers are elected to serve one year terms that commence on July 1st and end on June 30th of the following year.
The upcoming election will be for the following officer positions:
President – responsible for overall strategic direction for the Chapter, venue and speaker inquiry
Vice-President – responsible for coordinating events, venue and speaker inquiry
Secretary – responsible for organizational and administrative functions of the Chapter
Treasurer – responsible for financial matters of the Chapter

Election Process.

  1. Please send your self-nomination and other person nominations with a resume through bgsseattle@gmail.com on or before April 15th.
  2. If approved as a candidate by Beta Gamma Sigma central operations, you will need to submit a short narrative about your background.  The narratives of each approved candidate will be included in a broadcast email to all members on May 24th for the election.  Members will have until May 31st to vote via email for a candidate for each officer role.
  3. The Seattle Alumni Chapter will announce the newly elected officers as soon as all the votes have been tallied, and acceptance is confirmed from the winner of each officer position.  For officer positions with only one candidate, election is automatic.



BGS - Seattle Alumni Chapter - 2013 Scholarship Award - $1,000
 
This year we have set the scholarship award criteria to reward academic excellence in the study of business.  The eligibility criteria and application process is simple; see below:

Are you a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Seattle Alumni Chapter?

Are you a currently enrolled in a business-related Master's degree program, or are you currently a Senior in a business-related Bachelor's degree program?

If you answered yes to both of these questions then you are eligible to apply. (Go to http://bgsseattle.org/bgs-1000-scholarship-2013/ for specific eligibility criteria.)

To apply, email your unofficial transcripts to bgsseattle@gmail.com on or before 04/30/2013.

The winner will be announced in June of 2013, and the scholarship award will be presented in August of 2013.

Stein was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Albina Community Bank in Portland, Oregon.  He earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Idaho and is a Certified Public Accountant.  His post-graduate executive education includes the Graduate School of Bank Financial Management, and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.
