IE
Business School Announces New Scholarship Program
for BGS Members
IE recently joined
forces with the International Honor Society Beta
Gamma Sigma and the partnership – formally
announced at the end of 2010 – marries IE’s
commitment to young professionals around the world
with BGS graduates from top US and global academic
programs.
In working with BGS, we have developed
a targeted scholarship program which offers financial
support to their exceptional pool of academically
talented and professionally motivated members.
The IE BGS Scholarships are awarded on a competitive
basis and offered to those BGS candidates who
hold high professional merit and economic need.
Sponsorships can be applied to various programs
at IE, including IE Business School’s MBA,
Executive MBA, specialized Masters, and Executive
Education programs.
This type of opportunity is clearly
a fit for BGS graduates – 60/70 percent
of whom have explicitly expressed an interest
in furthering their education and attaining a
graduate degree.
In an ever-changing
global economic environment, it is important to
pursue academic study that not only deepens one’s
skills set but also delivers the international
experience and cross-cultural perspective that
is increasingly in demand in today’s job
market. An IE scholarship offers BGS members the
chance to do just that – in a location that
has always been a favorite among students looking
to immerse themselves in a dynamic, multicultural
society.
Spain is indeed a
wonderful place to pursue a graduate degree, broaden
one’s professional network, and explore
the complexities of the business world. Furthermore,
while pursing an IE degree, students also have
the opportunity to gain a working knowledge of
the Spanish language. Of course, IE’s powerhouse
of programs are offered in English (as well as
Spanish), but a big draw of studying in Spain
is in learning the language. Spanish is considered
to be the third most spoken language globally.
Widely spoken in Latin America, it is also the
second most prevalent language in the United States
and is likewise considered the second language
of business.
The fundamental principles at
the core of IE’s work include the promotion
of quality and innovation in training managers
and entrepreneurs, commitment to business ethics,
and the creation of enterprises as a driving force
behind economic growth and sustained social well-being.
Not only does our partnership with BGS align with
these principles but we are confident that the
students who are awarded the IE BGS scholarships
will step into the business world upon graduation
and immediately add value as entrepreneurially-minded,
socially minded, global citizens.
Lastly, as an international academic
institution dedicated to the advancement of higher
learning, we at IE are proud to be the first European
institution to become part of the Beta Gamma Sigma
Honor Society. Those IE graduates who illustrate
the exceptional academic and professional qualities
honored by both IE and the Society are awarded
with BGS certificates upon completion of their
program.
