Is the Postal System Becoming Obsolete?
When
was the last time you sent a letter in the
mail? The U.S. Postal System has
announced that it will close hundreds of mailing
centers across the country in the wake of
a $3.3 billion loss last quarter. Perhaps
adding insult to injury, there are already
rumors that the cost
of postage stamps will rise again in the near
future. And it's not just an issue in the
United States. Similar news is becoming more
common in countries around the world.
So
what's really going on? And if the world is
moving away from the good ol' letter and stamp,
what will replace it?
