Survey of Membership Acceptance and Chapter Promotional Activities
The Central Office wanted to remind all chapters that the 2006-07 Survey of Membership Acceptance is due by October 1, 2007. This form must be returned by the October 1 deadline to qualify for consideration for the Premier Chapter, Exemplary Chapter and Outstanding Chapter Awards, and Scholarship participation. You may download the form at http://www.betagammasigma.org/Forms/survey07.doc and return the completed form to bgshonors@betagammasigma.org.
Again this year, Chapters will be recognized by Beta Gamma Sigma for reaching Premier Chapter and Exemplary Chapter levels. We will have representatives on hand at the Regional Deans Meetings and will be presenting certificates to the deans in attendance. This is a great opportunity for your chapter and business school to be recognized for its accomplishments in front of other deans and business school officials.
Update Chapter Constitution
The Beta Gamma Sigma Central Office has made updates to the Model Chapter Constitution that each chapter uses to govern the chapter. Much of the language and terminology had not been updated in years, so the model constitution was changed to fit with the Society in 2007-08.
The Central Office is requesting that each collegiate chapter download the new Model Chapter Constitution (http://www.betagammasigma.org/Forms/bgsconstitution.doc), update as appropriate, approve the updated constitution and provide a signed copy to Donna Binek in the Central Office at dbinek@betagammasigma.org. Each collegiate chapter is required to have a Chapter Constitution on file with the Central Office, and this process will ensure the accuracy of those documents.
Thank you for your assistance, and if you have any questions please contact Donna Binek.

Bronze Key
The Beta Gamma Sigma Key can be a symbol of academic excellence on your campus.
The Board of Governors of Beta Gamma Sigma encourages chapters to consider adding this symbol of academic excellence to their physical plant. The Key can be mounted either indoors or outdoors. The base should be obtained or built locally. Plans for a cast concrete base are available from the Central Office, but native stone or other materials may be used.
The Central Office Staff is prepared to assist chapters in fund raising efforts by providing contact information for BGS alumni of the chapter or potential donors in the area of the institution.
For information concerning the purchase of the BGS Key for display on your campus, please contact James Viehland, Executive Director, at jviehland@betagammasigma.org or download the informational Bronze Key flyer.
Click here to see how other collegiate chapters have chosen to display the bronze key.
