Updates for the BGS Online Ordering System

As most of you know, Beta Gamma Sigma introduced the Online Ordering System (OOS) in 2006-07. It worked very well for most, but several things needed “tweaking” so chapter representatives could use the system more efficiently.
Thanks to the very detailed input by so many chapter representatives, the Central Office planned for and made substantial changes to OOS heading into 2007-08. Included was the ability for chapters to upload a list of names, which made it much easier and more efficient for advisors to accomplish their tasks.
Everything went very smoothly this last year, and thanks to that there will be no major changes for 2008-09. We are working on some additional functionality – including the introduction of on-line forms, which will make much of the emailing and faxing of today unnecessary – that should be introduced around January 1, 2009. We will tell you much more about this as we progress this fall.
But the big news is that we don’t have to change much this year because you’ve taken to the OOS System so well. It has certainly made the Central Office’s job more efficient, and we’ve heard many times from you that the system is working well. As always, if you have any questions as you prepare for 2008-09, please contact Donna Binek at dbinek@betagammasigma.org and she will be glad to help you through them.
We wish everyone a happy and successful 2008-09 year! |
