This one-stop resource, not only includes job postings from employers wishing to hire BGS members, but expert advice and tips on careers, resumes, interviewing, networking, applying to graduate and doctoral programs and much more. This dynamic site will be routinely updated to provide members the most current and relevant career information.

Beta Gamma Sigma has also developed affiliations with various retailers, such as Jos. A Bank, Brooks Brothers and BananaRepublic.com, to offer discounts on professional attire. Check out CareerCentral’s ‘Dress for Success’ section to learn more about these exclusive offers.

NEW DVD: “Ethical Business Leadership: A Chapter Program”

The Society recently launched the Beta Gamma Sigma Center for Ethical Business Leadership (www.eblcenter.org) – an online resource for information and ideas on effective ethical leadership practices. The site includes videotaped conversations with business leaders known for their commitment to building strong, ethical corporate cultures including Douglas Conant, president and CEO, Campbell’s Soup Company; Anne Mulcahy, chairman and former CEO, Xerox; and Timothy Flynn, chairman, KPMG, and many, many more.

In conjunction with the EBL Center, Beta Gamma Sigma has also produced a DVD intended for Collegiate Chapters titled, “Ethical Business Leadership: A Chapter Program.” This informative DVD contains interviews with corporate executives explaining how their organizations have developed, maintained and enhanced their ethical cultures. The DVD is segmented into four chapters on the following topics:

  • Leading by Example;
  • An Ethical DNA;
  • Ethics and Advancement;
  • Maintaining a Culture of Ethics.

Your BGS chapter can utilize this DVD for a chapter program – inviting members and business leaders in your area to watch segments and discuss these important issues. If your chapter chooses to take part in this event, please send pictures and tell us about it.

“Ethical Business Leadership: A Chapter Program", is available free of charge to all Beta Gamma Sigma Collegiate Chapters. If your chapter hasn’t already received this DVD, send a request to eblcenter@betagammasigma.org to obtain a free copy.

BGS Scholarships

For qualifying chapters, the BGS Scholarship Program continues to grow. Last year,
Beta Gamma Sigma and its member deans awarded more than $140,000 in scholarships to deserving new members, and would like for that number to grow. It is our goal that every chapter awards a scholarship each year to a deserving student. To learn more about the BGS Scholarship Program and view the 2009 recipients, visit http://www.betagammasigma.org/scholarshipprogram.htm.
