Beta Gamma Sigma Successes

Thanks to the help and support
of our chapter representatives and deans of
AACSB accredited business schools, Beta Gamma
Sigma boasts another successful year. The Society
is proud to announce a number of accomplishments
including:
A Record Number
of New Inductees
Despite
economic conditions, Beta Gamma Sigma surpassed
expectations to report another record-breaking
number of new inductees in a single year! In
2008-09, more than 23,000 invited students joined the Honor Society – breaking 2007-08 year’s record
of 21,970 new members.
Thank you for all of your hard
work and dedication and for making this our
best year to-date. We welcome each of our 23,000+
members and look forward to making this year
even more successful!

Gamma Sigma would like to announce and congratulate
the following recipients of the 2009 Outstanding
Chapter Award – recognizing chapters that
demonstrate excellence in chapter performance.
- Gold Chapter – The University
of North Carolina at Greensboro
This is the highest recognition a collegiate
chapter can earn through Beta Gamma Sigma.
The chapter also receives a $1,500 scholarship
to award one of its outstanding student
members.

2009 Outstanding Chapter
Advisor
Beta
Gamma Sigma would like to congratulate Dr. Susan
Borkowski, professor of accounting at La Salle
University, for being named this year’s
Outstanding Chapter Advisor. As the first and
only chapter advisor to serve the Beta Gamma
Sigma La Salle University chapter, Borkowski
has worked diligently to advance the value of
membership for students, faculty and alumni
and has continuously motivated members to achieve
their personal bests. Her efforts have driven
several BGS initiatives and activities that
have heightened member engagement and increased
the Society’s visibility on campus.
