Student Membership Benefits
Letting eligible students know about the variety and value of member benefits is a great way to increase acceptance rates, and is especially important going into the spring. The Society has developed a wide variety of benefits that can be valuable at many stages of a lifetime member’s career. This is certainly true of student members.
This year, all new student members will once again receive a one-year
subscription to BusinessWeek magazine in
either the print or digital format. BusinessWeek gives you
analysis and insight on a wide variety of business issues. Each week
BusinessWeek is the indispensable resource for business leaders
around the world.
In addition, new student members (with a U.S. address only) this
year will receive a one-year (25-issue) subscription to Fortune
magazine. Fortune is a great tool for today’s business
leaders, filled with expert advice on winning in business and investing.
Each issue brings you closer to success.
These special student member subscriptions are a great way to introduce eligible students to the value of their lifetime membership. And there’s certainly much more. The Beta Gamma Sigma Alumni Network has grown to include 17 alumni chapters in major U.S. metropolitan areas plus one in Hong Kong. There are great discount offers on everything from on-line books (Barnes & Noble.com) and car rentals (Avis and Enterprise), to subscriptions to business publications like The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and others.
Students may be interested in knowing more about some of our newer partnership offers – including discounts on Kaplan Test Prep materials and classes, Schweser Study and Certificate Institute Programs, and the special Princeton Review Program. If eligible undergraduate students are considering graduate school in their future, these programs could be very valuable.
Finally, the BGS CareerCentral Job Board is an opportunity for members to get their resumes before those companies who know the value of hiring “the best in business.” At the site, members post resumes and search through the available career opportunities. Companies appreciate the “filter” of BGS CareerCentral – they know they’ll be looking at BGS lifetime members, who are the best.
Encourage your eligible students to look through the list of BGS member benefits that can be found on BetaNet at http://www.betagammasigma.org/benefits.htm. By doing so you highlight the value of the lifetime membership while also informing future members of some opportunities that can make a difference in their future. It’s just another way Beta Gamma Sigma and its collegiate chapters are “Recognizing Business Excellence.”
