Founders' Week - February 19-25, 2006
February 19, 2006 will mark Beta Gamma Sigma's 93rd anniversary as an Honor Society. Each Beta Gamma Sigma chapter is asked to celebrate this occasion during Founders' Week, February 19-25. If your chapter has not made plans for Founders' Week, do not fret. Here are a few suggested ways to commemorate the occasion:

Celebrating BGS Founders’ Week is not limited to suggestions from the Central Office—be creative and let the Central Office know how your chapter celebrated Founders’ Week 2006!

New Chapter Contest
What is your chapter's secret to success for inviting or inducting new members into the Society? That's what the Central Office will be wanting to know later this Spring. Chapters will be asked to provide their Best Practice used for this Spring's invitations/inductions. BGS will pick the best and provide those chapters with recognition and a special gift. Look for additional contest details in an upcoming B-Mail!

Look for Weekly B-Mails this Spring
Between invitations and inductions, Spring tends to be the busiest time of year for Beta Gamma Sigma Collegiate Chapters, and Spring 2006 is likely to be no different. To help keep things running as smooth as possible, and to keep the collegiate chapters better informed, the Central Office will once again be sending weekly B-Mails this Spring.

These weekly messages will include information regarding upcoming programs and activities, as well as helpful hints for chapter success.

To make sure your chapter doesn't miss out on any breaking Society news or special opportunities, be sure to add our email address to the "safe" list in your email filter and read your B-Mail each week.

Invitation Orders
Because Spring is such a busy time for all of our chapters, Beta Gamma Sigma urges chapters to send in their invitation orders as soon as possible. If you have not done so already, please take some time at this early point in the semester to determine which students are eligible for invitation into the Society, and place your orders accordingly.

Invitation orders will be packaged and shipped as soon as they come into the Central Office, but please allow at least a week for delivery. While the Society does not charge chapters for standard delivery, any deliveries requiring either 2nd Day or Next Day Air delivery will be made at the chapter's expense.

The SLF Experience
Is your chapter considering sending a student to participate in the Beta Gamma Sigma Student Leadership Forum? If so, then the Central Office is pleased to offer some additional insight into the program and its impact on participants. "The SLF Experience" provides a visual glimpse at the Forum, one of the Society's cornerstone programs.

Combining interviews with program participants and visuals of the various activities that occur during the Forum, this video gives a glimpse of what the Student Leadership Forum is and how it has benefited those who have attended.

"The SLF Experience" is viewable on BetaNet via streaming QuickTime video. DVDs of the video will also be made available to chapters free of charge later in the Spring.

Advertise in the International Exchange
Following the very positive feedback received regarding the magazine format of the Beta Gamma Sigma International Exchange, the Society has decided to grow the publication even more in 2006! The quarterly magazine will be providing more content than ever, and will be expanding to four printed editions a year.

Let your business school be seen by the "Best in Business." Reserve your school's advertising space today by contacting Tim Weatherby in the Central Office.

Online Ordering System
Changes are coming to the chapter supply ordering process. The Central Office is currently working to develop an online ordering system that will streamline the process for collegiate chapters. Once fully implemented, Chapter Officers will no longer have to fax or email attachments to order supplies or place membership orders.

Testing of the new system is expected to commence in Summer 2006, with large scale implementation of the system in the Fall. The Central Office staff thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this switch.
