Collegiate Chapter Workshops
Beta Gamma Sigma holds Collegiate Chapter Workshops to help its faculty advisors and other chapter contacts as they prepare for, invite, and induct new members each year. The Society normally recommends that each chapter send a representative to one of these workshops every few years, and it's a great idea for new chapters to see how others have succeeded. This year we are requesting that a representative from each chapter attend a workshop this spring.

This year it's even more important, as Beta Gamma Sigma is kicking off its new Online Ordering System in 2006-07. Instructions on using this new system will be covered in detail, as will time-tested best practices, tips and tricks that can make your chapter more successful than ever. Because of the new Online Ordering System, Beta Gamma Sigma is prepared to add more workshops this spring if the ones scheduled fill up. We are requesting that a representative from every chapter attend a workshop this year, so please consider your options now. The new order system is a very big change, and those chapters able to attend a workshop will be at a very large advantage. Don’t let your chapter miss out on this valuable opportunity! Try to find a representative from your chapter who can attend one of our workshops this spring!

Our next workshop is scheduled for February 23-24, 2007 in St. Louis, Missouri. There is a $100 registration fee, but the Central Office waives that fee if you register by January 25. Don't wait, register today for this event. To download the registration form, go to http://www.betagammasigma.org/Forms/col_workshop_stl.doc

Other Collegiate Chapter Workshops scheduled for spring 2007 include:

B-Mails
In order to keep the collegiate chapters informed of Society goings-on and pertinent news and information, as well as to help your chapter run more smoothly, the Central Office will be continuing the use of Beta Gamma Sigma B-Mail this Spring. These regular messages will include information regarding upcoming programs and activities, as well as helpful hints for chapter success.

Make sure your chapter doesn't miss out on any breaking Society news or special opportunities! Be sure to read each B-Mail issue! Add bgshonors@betagmmasigma.org to your email address book to avoid problems with your spam filters.

Bronze Key
The Beta Gamma Sigma Key can be a symbol of academic excellence on your campus.

The Board of Governors of Beta Gamma Sigma encourages chapters to consider adding this symbol of academic excellence to their physical plant. The Key can be mounted either indoors or outdoors. The base should be obtained or built locally. Plans for a cast concrete base are available from the Central Office, but native stone or other materials may be used.

The Central Office Staff is prepared to assist chapters in fund raising efforts through BGS alumni of the chapter or potential donors in the area of the institution.

For information concerning the purchase of the BGS Key for display on your campus, please contact James Viehland, Executive Director, at jviehland@betagammasigma.org or download the informational Bronze Key flyer.

Click here to see how other collegiate chapters have chosen to display the bronze key.
