2012-2013 Membership of Acceptance Survey

Description: Description: http://www.betagammasigma.org/email/graphics/bgskeymedium1.gifAs a reminder, each chapter is required to complete and submit the 2012-2013 Survey of Member Acceptance and Chapter Promotional Activities.

This self-reporting mechanism determines if the chapter is named Premier or Exemplary and pre-qualifies chapters for participation in Beta Gamma Sigma's Scholarship Program as well as the Society's Outstanding Chapter and Outstanding Chapter Advisor competitions. Completion of this form in a timely manner also assists the Central Office with planning for chapters for 2013-2014 and onward.

To download the 2012-2013 Survey of Membership Acceptance and Chapter Promotional Activities, go to:
http://www.betagammasigma.org/Forms/membershipacceptance_survey_12and13.doc

Chapters are highly encouraged to complete and submit the survey as you are finalizing chapter activities for the year.

Understanding the BGS Re-Invite Program

For those chapters with ceremonies from July to April, if you are participating in the re-invite program through BGS, please tell your students to expect their re-invites to the Society in mid-May.

If you have not yet followed up about re-inviting students to your university's BGS chapter, please do so no later than
May 3, 2013
. Additionally, if you need to attach a local fee on to the standard lifetime membership fee of $65 plus two dollars for shipping, this information also needs to be sent to the BGS Central Office by May 3, 2013.

Last summer, almost 450 students accepted the follow-up invitation to join Beta Gamma Sigma. The students were thankful for the second chance and cited these reasons (among others) for accepting late: they didn’t understand the value of lifetime membership initially; they didn’t have the cash at the time; the mailed invitation went to their parent’s address.

The entire process will be handled electronically between the individual student and the Central Office, including shipment of their certificate and new member materials.  You will be notified of any additional members who join at your school, and they will be included towards Premier or Exemplary chapter status.

Please note: This first wave of re-invites is not applicable to those chapters with induction ceremonies in May and June. For those chapters, please expect to receive your re-invite information later this summer.

Please contact Sarah Bowman at sbowman@betagammasigma.org or by calling the Central Office at (314) 432-5650 if you have additional questions regarding the BGS Re-Invite Program.

Thank you!
