2012-2013 Membership of Acceptance Survey

As a reminder, each chapter is required to complete and submit the 2012-2013 Survey of Member Description: Description: http://www.betagammasigma.org/email/graphics/bgskeymedium1.gifAcceptanceandChapter Promotional Activities.

This self-reporting mechanism determines if the chapter is named Premier or Exemplary and pre-qualifies chapters for participation in Beta Gamma Sigma's Scholarship Program as well as the Society's Outstanding Chapter and Outstanding Chapter Advisor competitions. Completion of this form in a timely manner also assists the Central Office with planning for chapters for 2013-2014 and onward.

To download the 2012-2013 Survey of Membership Acceptance and Chapter Promotional Activities, go to:
http://www.betagammasigma.org/Forms/membershipacceptance_survey_12and13.doc

Chapters are highly encouraged to complete and submit the survey as you are finalizing chapter activities for the year.

Chapter Honoree Awards

Chapter Advisors, if you are wanting to nominate someone as a BGS Chapter Honoree, please remember that you MUST complete the Chapter Honoree form AND add the honoree's name to the Online Ordering System. Additionally, please mark them as "paid" and make sure the MDP is then completed.

Many chapters are still not completing these Chapter Honoree forms, so we want to make sure chapters are not skipped and can get their honoree information into the office as soon as possible.

Please find the Chapter Honoree Award form at this link here.

If you have any questions on Chapter Honoree Awards, this process or anything related to BGS honorees, please contact Donna Binek in the central office at dbinek@betagammasigma.org.

BGS Graduate Scholarship Opportunity Program

Five universities currently offer BGS students partial scholarships or discounts to their MBA programs, determined through an individualized agreement between BGS and the university: IE, Willamette University, Centrum Católica, La Salle University, and Monterey  Institute of International Studies. BGS would love to set up more relationships like these between our network of the “Best in Business” and MBA programs around the world.

The Central Office believes BGS members deserve help with their graduate studies-- after all, they placed high in their UG programs--but we also see great incentive for the institution offering the scholarship because BGS students are likely more attracted to programs offering them money.  This offers a way to encourage and promote universities that give BGS members financial backing.

If you would like to see more information about how your institution might begin a similar program, see the brochure here.

Please refer to this website to explore what schools currently offer and for what programs: http://www.betagammasigma.org/bgsscholarships.htm

Bridging the Gap between Alumni and Collegiate Chapters

If your collegiate chapter is located in a metropolitan area with an established Alumni Chapter, please consider asking them to attend your induction ceremony and speak about the various alumni networking opportunities in your area.

Alumni Chapters provide professional contacts in the local area, networking opportunities, professional development opportunities through programs of the chapter, the opportunity to give back through interaction with current student members and new graduates and an opportunity to develop new relationships with other business people.

Through the Alumni Chapter program, new Beta Gamma Sigma members have a ready-made connection with business professionals in the business community. Members of Alumni Chapters could individually look to the collegiate chapters as a place to find valuable new employees.
