The Beta Gamma Sigma Alumni Network was in full swing over the summer, with alumni events being held in major metropolitan areas around the world.
From networking nights, to sporting events, to speeches from dignitaries, there was something for everyone on the Alumni Network docket over the last few months.
Among
the alumni chapters most brimming with recent activity has been Los
Angeles. Chapter members gathered for two major events
in the span
of about a month. For the first, Los Angeles area BGS alumni came
together on August 22nd, for the chapter's "Summer Beta Bash."
Those attending the mixer were able to meet other BGS members while
enjoying free appetizers and a view of the Long Beach marina.

Los
Angeles Area Alumni Chapter Beta Bash |
The Los
Angeles Area Alumni Chapter followed their successful "Summer Beta
Bash" with their Fall Beta Bash” on September 27th.
The festivities, this time being held in Anaheim, included mingling,
appetizers and micro-brewed beer.
A good time at the ballpark was on the agenda for those
attending the Philadelphia Area Alumni Chapter's "Night
at the Phillies." For just $15 a ticket, BGS members and
their friends enjoyed a fun filled evening at the ballpark. Those attending
were on hand to see Jon Lieber strike out four on his way to picking
up his 12th victory of the season -- a 4 to 3 win over NL East rival,
the Washington Nationals.
Also getting
their fill of "popcorn and cracker jacks" were members of
the San Francisco Area Alumni Chapter. The chapter's
"BGS Day at the SF Giants," brought BGS members, new and old,
from around the Bay to see their hometown Giants take on the Chicago
Cubs. While the Giants may have fallen short of the win, it was
still a good time had by all.
While the
crowd gathering for the Atlanta Area Alumni Chapter's
September event may have been a bit more subdued than those in Philadelphia
or San Francisco, they were by no means less captivated. The event,
featuring Georgia’s 80th Governor Roy Barnes, focused on the relationship
between business and government. The event was free for all members
of the Atlanta Area Alumni chapter, current student BGS members and
all faculty members of the Society.

Boston
Area Alumni Chapter Scholarship Dinner |
Beta Gamma
Sigma members were also on hand for the Boston Area Alumni Chapter's
1st Annual Chapter Scholarship Dinner. The event featured the
presentation of the chapter's first scholarship to Kevin Schohl, a senior
from Boston College.
On the other
side of the globe, the Hong Kong Alumni Chapter gathered
its members in September for its kick-off event. The event was
highlighted by a speech by BGS Board of Governors member David Blake,
and provided members of the newest BGS Alumni Chapter with the opportunity
to connect with the best in business in Hong Kong.
