BGS Alumni Network - Alumni Chapters Giving Back

In previous issues of the International Exchange, we've told you about the great networking opportunities available through the BGS Alumni Network. There's no doubt that being part of an alumni chapter is an excellent way to connect with people just like you – the "Best in Business."

The BGS Alumni Network just got a bit bigger!
Beta Gamma Sigma is proud to announce the launch of the Central and Southern Germany Alumni Chapter - the 27th chapter in the BGS Alumni Network.

What you might not know, is that the BGS Alumni Network can serve as an outstanding avenue for giving back to your community.

In celebration of Beta Gamma Sigma's 100th year, the BGS Gives Back Centennial Service Initiative encourages members to recognize the society's commitment to excellence by offering their time, energy and skills to different volunteer projects and organizations around the globe. BGS alumni chapters have taken this initiative to heart.

One philanthropic effort currently in the works is the upcoming BGS Community Service Day, set for October 27, 2012. Coordinated locally by each of the Society's alumni chapters, this day is designed to bring together BGS members around the globe to provide community service in their respective communities, all in a single day.

This will be a great opportunity to get to know some of your fellow BGS lifetime members while also doing something good for the world.

Because BGS members are truly everywhere, the BGS Community Service Day Event does not serve one particular organization or project. Rather, each alumni chapter will determine where its members' time and talents will be of the greatest use and provide the most impact.

Some BGS chapters have taken on additional projects in connection with the BGS Gives Back Centennial Service Initiative. One such chapter, the Denver Area Alumni Chapter, has created a year-long blood drive called "100 Pints for 100 Years."

As the centennial year continues, more chapters will be contributing their members' time and skills to innovative and valuable service projects around the world.

By participating in these efforts, or by contributing with altogether new work and projects, such service-driven activities allow individuals to connect with fellow members, give back to local communities and represent what is best about Beta Gamma Sigma.
