Lifetime Membership Fee 
The single largest source of funds comes from the one-time, lifetime fee ($65 US) paid by all new inductees. While this does not cover the full cost of member services throughout the inductee’s life, it represents a reasonable fee for graduating students who typically have limited income.
Contributions
Contributions from members and friends are tax deductible from U.S.A. and Canadian tax returns to the full extent allowed under the law as Beta Gamma Sigma is a 501(c)(3) organization. This significant source of funding helps to support the Board of Governors’ goal of keeping the lifetime membership fee as low as possible.
Many corporations have Matching Gift Programs designed to encourage their employees or board members in philanthropic efforts. We encourage Beta Gamma Sigma members to check with their human resource departments for the proper forms to make their contributions to Beta Gamma Sigma eligible for matching.
Sponsorships & Grants
Funding from corporations and foundations supports special projects such as the Student Leadership Forum. This support also provides external, third-party confirmation of the value of such programs and the Mission of Beta Gamma Sigma.
Bequests
Beta Gamma Sigma has been the beneficiary of bequests from several members who have wished to provide support for the Society so that it may continue to promote high academic standards and recognize academic achievement. The Beta Gamma Sigma brochure The Right Moment explains more about the variety of giving opportunities available. A printed copy of this brochure is available by emailing the Central Office.
Other Sources of Revenue
Sales of Regalia and other items promote the visibility of Beta Gamma Sigma and provide net income to support BGS programs.
Other revenue sources include royalties from the BGS MasterCard®, which is made available to Beta Gamma Sigma members, as well as from other member services which the Beta Gamma Sigma Board of Governors has approved.
