2011 Summer Internship
Program

The Central Office of Beta Gamma Sigma is looking for up to three
BGS members who may be interested in summer positions in St. Louis;
someone who is interested in the workings of a not-for-profit organization
and also engaging a focus group of fellow members through surveys
and social networks.
| Primary Job Responsibilities: |

1) |
Secure a Focus Group of BGS members (who will be seniors or graduate students in the Fall of 2011) who will agree to participate in a series of electronic surveys over the summer.
• BGS will provide database information
• Intern will create the inquiry communication to these BGS members (revisions of previous year surveys)

2) |
Create, conduct and tabulate results with a series of surveys on topics determined by Beta Gamma Sigma staff.
Purposes:
• To learn more about and from our current student members
• To develop a relationship with a group of new BGS members
|
3) |
Prepare reports for BGS staff on the survey results |
4) |
Create social media groups for this BGS Current Student Members focus group as a means of sharing information about BGS & answering questions members may have |
5) |
Create letters and messages to new BGS members and prospective BGS members |
6) |
Serve as a point of contact for these new/prospective members |

| Skill Set Required: |
1) |
Knowledge of Excel and Word |
2) |
Basic knowledge/experience in survey research (or ability to learn quickly) |
3) |
Ability to create and administer simple surveys (Zoomerang) as well as tabulate and write up the results in report format |
4) |
Excellent writing skills |
Again, we are looking for a BGS member who will be a Senior or
Graduate Student during Fall 2011. We also want this person to be
an enthusiastic self-starter with a positive attitude. This is a
paid position which will provide approximately 20-25 hours per week
in our St. Louis, Missouri Central Office at $12.50 per hour.
