Greensboro’s Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter Receives Society’s
Highest Honor
Beta
Gamma Sigma, the international business honor society, recently
named the chapter at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro
a 2009 Outstanding Chapter Award recipient. It received the Gold
Chapter Award – the highest recognition a collegiate chapter
can earn through Beta Gamma Sigma.
“The Outstanding Chapter Award is presented at four levels:
Gold, Silver, Bronze and Honorable Mention. This year, it is a pleasure
to recognize The University of North Carolina at Greensboro as the
Gold Chapter for its excellence in chapter performance in encouraging
and honoring academic achievement in the study of business,”
said George E. Stevens, president of Beta Gamma Sigma.
In addition to earning this prestigious accolade, as the 2009 Gold
Outstanding Chapter Award recipient, the chapter will receive a
$1,500 scholarship from Beta Gamma Sigma to present to one of its
outstanding student members.
To be considered for Beta Gamma Sigma’s Outstanding Chapter
Award, chapters must complete and return a survey that details their
activities and membership acceptance rates. Only chapters with a
membership acceptance rate of 85 percent or higher are eligible
for consideration.
