Before Western, Mohsen was a Project Management Officer at Niagara College (Niagara Falls, Canada), where he was in charge of the successful launch, ongoing administration/marketing, and contractually-compliant delivery of new offshore education and campus management. Mohsen also worked as an Educational Specialist for the Democracy Council, as a Project Manager for the United Nations Development Programme, as an Emergency Program Manager for CHF International (later called Global Communities), as a Program Manager for Islamic Relief Worldwide, and as a Project Coordinator for Agence française de développement (AFD) and the World Bank, Project Management Specialist for US Agency for International Development (USAID), Technical Coordinator for Louis Berger International Inc., Project Engineer for Henty Construction, Site Engineer for Home Engineering, and Project Officer for the Welfare Association.
Mohsen received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Birzeit University (West Bank) and his dual master’s degrees (Fulbright Scholar) in civil engineering from Washington University in St. Louis (M.S. in Engineering & Policy and in Construction Management). In 2007, he earned a second Fulbright scholarship to study his Ph.D. program at the University of Texas Dallas in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) but for personal reasons, he could not travel. In 2022/23, Mohsen was selected as the Goodman School of Business Staff Member of the Year Award recipient.
